You’ve come to this page perhaps because you are seeking hope for you or someone you love… Our next retreat in the Twin Cities area is October 29-31, 2010. The retreat begins on Friday evening (5:30 pm sign in) and ends on Sunday around 3 pm. I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have. This may answer some of your questions... What is it? A Rachel's Vineyard Retreat is an opportunity for women and men to resolve issues of guilt, shame, pain, grief, and anxiety after an abortion. There is NO condemnation or judgment on the retreat and everything is kept in the strictest confidence. The retreat provides a safe place for you to open up to Christ and others who understand so you can unburden yourself of grief, loss, anger… without fear. This isn't a magic weekend where you are instantly healed, but it's the beginning of a journey of new hope and healing - An opportunity, with the grace of God, to break free of the pit you’ve been stuck in for so long. Is it religious? Our retreats are Christian. They began from Catholic roots and have added an interdenominational version, which we offer here. The focus is on Jesus and our relationship with Him through specially designed activities. The focus is not on our different denominations or religious rituals. All are welcome. There is opportunity for counseling with a pastor and a therapist. Who will be there? The sizes of our retreats vary from 6-15 participants and we adjust the size of our team accordingly. Either way, we are able to give each person the time and attention he or she needs. There will be 4-5 experienced volunteer facilitators, the counselor, and the pastor for the entire weekend. Most of our team members are past retreat participants and became involved with Rachel's Vineyard after experiencing healing on their own retreat. Where and how much? The retreat is held in a comfortable, confidential location near Frederic WI. (We send address and maps when you’ve registered.) The cost is $140 and covers your room, all materials, and all meals and snacks. If you have a problem with the cost, just let us know and we'll work with you. Why should I come? Our ministry is here for you and we understand how you're feeling. You are not alone in your experience and what you are going through. Look at the list of symptoms for Post Abortion suffering on the national website at http://www.rachelsvineyard.org/emotions/symptoms.html Will I be the only one who's had multiples? You are by no means alone. Most woman who've had an abortion have had multiples. It's common in post traumatic stress. If this is something you are feeling nudged toward, call or click here for a registration form. Register early to reserve a spot. The limit is 15 (which includes support persons and is an option for anyone who would like to invite a loved one to experience the retreat with them). Contact me if you have further questions. May God bless you and keep you safe while you consider coming to this beautiful retreat. Debbi Stocco, coordinator |
